Rev. Damen Morris is a native of Gary, Indiana. A graduate of Gary West Side High School. Rev. Morris holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Telecommunications from Indiana University where he currently is employed in Marketing. An Indiana University first-generation scholar and recipient of Indiana University Group's Sassafras Award for “Distinguished Alumni in Arts & Entertainment.” He is also an award-winning designer in numerous design publications and print advertising.
Rev. Morris answered his call to ministry at Bethel Bloomington, serving as a Ministry Leader in numerous youth & adult ministries. God expanded Rev. Morris's ministry by becoming a team member for Kairos International Prison Ministry Foundation at Putnamville Prison in Putnamville, Indiana. There he served alongside the ecumenical ministry by hosting and guiding offenders through spiritual transformation. The work led him to be recognized by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Centennial as a "Citizen of the Year" Award. He also served as assistant pastor alongside Rev. Cecilia Bryant & the Indiana Women’s Missionary Society in Mount Vernon, Indiana where he gained field experience as a minister in training.
His accomplishments and endeavors led him to further his education at Indiana Wesleyan Seminary where Rev. Morris now holds a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from the Bishop Tom Benjamin School of Ministry, Pastor Emeritus of Light of the World Church (in Indianapolis). His education has guided him through Afrocentric pastoring and preaching culturally contextual messages and teaching spiritual development. He studied John Wesley’s Methodist movement abroad in London where he became engaged to Rev. Rosalind and happily married with three children Deja, Jada, DJ.
Rev. Rosalind Morris has served as the First Lady of Gomez Temple African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church in Fort Wayne, IN. She is married to the Reverend Damen Morris I, who serves as the Senior Pastor. She is the proud mother of three children, Deja Morris, Jada Morris, and Damen Morris II (DJ).
Rev. Rosalind Morris graduated from Indiana State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. She received a Master of Science Degree in 2011 from Indiana Wesleyan University in Human Resource Management, a Master of Divinity from Regent University School of Divinity, and is currently completing her PH.D. in Organizational Leadership.
Rev. Rosalind Morris accepted the call to preach in 2010 at Fervent Prayer Church in Indianapolis, IN. For a period in 2010-2013, she served on the ministerial staff at Fervent Prayer Church in Indianapolis, IN. During the year of 2013-2014, her husband was appointed to pastor Bethel Franklin Church, she was also serving on the ministerial staff at Faith Academy Ministries, in Dayton, OH. Rev Rosalind Morris joined her husband at Bethel AME Church in Franklin, IN.
In addition to her pastoral responsibilities, Rev. Morris, possesses a heart for women and children, Rev Morris is about empowering and encouraging women as they continue on their own journeys of faith..
